“ We loved the pretzel! We had to order another one! Service was wonderful! Very casual, open seating, & near the water. The medium size nachos were good but more like large or extra large, big portions! Lots of screen with sports on so if you’re into that that’s plentiful here. ”

“ 10/10 would recommend people to stop here. The atmosphere is amazing and the food was delicious, I honestly want to stop again every time I visit the island just to be able to try a new plate each time. It was late into the night when me and my family of 8 stopped by to eat dinner but the staff were friendly and attentive. Our food came out fast and it was all very delicious. After eating we decided to play a bit of pool and darts and it was a great experience in all. This place is definitely a hidden treasure at the island. ”

“ This place is amazing so reviews pulling down the stars must be their competition. Killer atmosphere, excellent food, great drinks, and hands down, the best staff in SPI! We were especially impressed by Oscar who was over the top accommodating the entire time. Everything is new and clean which is much needed. We had the catfish Nibblets which were perfection. No dark lines or skin and a light breading. Garlic Teriyaki wings were also spot on. Did I mention the humongous tv screens to view sports from any angle? Can't go wrong in this complex of bars in such a well thought out property! We will be back to SPI and this will probably be our first stop! ”

“ The food was delicious, if you are craving Seafood and your here in Texas, it's mandatory that you have to come to Kraken for combo fish and prawn chips, the fish was soft completely fully fried and the batter is plain with no spices or whatsoever but you can add that hot tapatio hot sauce and it comes with tater sauce, slice of fresh lemon and coleslaw the fries were way better then any other fries at other seafood bar and grill, as well as the atmosphere is cool, chill and much more like sporty place where you can come and enjoy with friends and family to watch the game or just chill and have some beer, the service was very good our waitress was very helpful during our time there as well as helpful with what we would wanna eat like a special platter or something like that. The only problem we faced was the entrance. The front entrance is closed. For some reason, you have to enter at the door where it's written THE ARENA. They have 2 main entrance doors, one on the main road on top of the little ramp and the next one in the rear, cool place and one of the best seafood restaurants after Seafood in Seattle Washington, no offense haha. ”

“ So, just as an FYI, I was not supposed to stop her for dinner because I was direct to another spot, and the name will stay anonymous. I was told they had the best burgers in town but they were closed so low and behold I end up at the Kracken and asked Destiny what was the best they had on the menu and she said the redeye. I told her I was looking for a burger, and she said you must try the Texas burger. And wow, she was right. I am so glad that the other place was closed. Very please. Must stop by and tell Destiny JT sent you. ”

“ Great bartender. Wanted to check out lunch specials. Bartender upgraded me to coconut shrimp. Good plan. Not the month old shrimp you get in Chicago, I think I could taste the ocean. Had sweet sour sauce which added to the flavor. See pic of lunch specials. Will be back. ”

“ This is a fabulous place to eat and will be added to our list of places to eat every time we come to South Padre. The pork chops were about an inch thick and were great. Heaping portions of side dishes. The appetizers were good, too. We had the pick 3 samplers (baked pretzels, fried pickles, and loaded tator tots) which came out on 2 plates ”
